Connect your first camera

Get the app and your camera on the same network, then let discovery find it or type the address in.

Before you start

  • Power the camera and put it on the same network as the device running SecureEyes.
  • Turn on ONVIF and RTSP in the camera's own settings. Some brands ship with both off.
  • If the vendor needs a local camera account, create one. The cloud app login usually won't work for ONVIF or RTSP.
  • Have the camera's IP, ONVIF port, username and password handy.

Add the camera

  1. 01Open SecureEyes and tap Add camera.
  2. 02Allow Local Network access when asked. Without it the app can't see your cameras.
  3. 03Run discovery. If the camera shows up, select it and enter its local credentials.
  4. 04Nothing found? Choose Add by IP and enter the address and ONVIF port.
  5. 05If ONVIF can't hand over a stream, paste an RTSP URL or path.
  6. 06Check the preview, name the camera, save.
