Set the Hub's clock and time zone

Set the Hub's time zone, and where its clock comes from, under Settings, Time. The zone decides the Hub's own local time and the clock on a screen plugged into it.

Check the clock

  1. 01Sign in to the Hub's page and open Settings, then the Time tab. While the left rail shows SETTING UP, choose Storage or Pair the app to reach the Settings tabs.
  2. 02THE CLOCK shows Local time, Universal time and Synchronised.
  3. 03YES · THE SYSTEM CLOCK IS SET FROM THE NETWORK is what you want. NO · FOOTAGE IS STAMPED WITH A CLOCK NOBODY CHECKED means the box is not setting its clock from the network: set a time source below.

Set the time zone

  1. 01Under TIME ZONE, type part of the place in the filter box, for example manila.
  2. 02Pick the zone in the list. Pick the place, not an offset: the zone carries daylight saving with it.
  3. 03Choose Set zone.
  4. 04The page says Applied. The clock on the television follows on its next tick. or Requested. The system applies it in a moment; this tab refreshes when it has.

Set where the time comes from

  1. 01Under TIME SOURCE, choose Follow the system, An NTP server or An NTS server.
  2. 02For a server, type its name in Server, for example time.cloudflare.com.
  3. 03Choose Set source.
  • An NTS server needs chrony on the box. Where it cannot be used, it says Not available here yet. and cannot be chosen.
  • A Hub in a container shows This hub runs in a container. The host keeps its clock; set the time source there.

What the zone changes

  • The Hub's local time on this tab, and the clock on a screen plugged into the Hub.
  • Times the page draws in your browser, such as LAST SEEN on the Devices tab and the log lines, follow your browser's time zone instead.

At install

The installer asks Time zone for this hub before it installs, and again each time you run the install line. Install the Hub has the detail.
