Update the Hub

Run the install line again to put the newest Hub over the old one. Its identity, pairings and recordings stay. The Hub does not check for updates itself.

See which version it runs

  • On the Hub's page: Settings > About > Version, or the Software row under Overview > THIS HUB.
  • Once the Hub has a camera, the foot of the left rail shows sehub · <version> · STANDALONE.
  • On the box: sehub --version

Update from the box

  1. 01Sign in to the Hub machine over SSH, or with a keyboard and screen.
  2. 02Run: curl -fsSL https://get.secureeyes.app | sudo sh
  3. 03Press Enter at Time zone for this hub to keep the zone.
  4. 04The installer checks the new package's signature and installs it over the old one. The Hub restarts as the new version.
  5. 05Check the version under Settings > About.
  • The Hub keeps its identity, pairings, cameras, settings and recordings. Paired devices do not pair again.
  • On Debian, Ubuntu and Raspberry Pi OS, if the box already runs the newest version, nothing changes. On the other distributions the same version is installed again and the Hub restarts.

The Software row

The Software row under Overview > THIS HUB reads Version <version> · no update feed configured. The Hub has no update feed, so the page has no button to check for or install an update. Update from the box, as above.
