Lock SecureEyes with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode

What app lock does

App lock covers SecureEyes with a solid screen until you unlock it with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. It needs Standard or Pro. It is set on each device and does not sync.

Turn it on

1. 01Choose More, then Privacy & Security.
2. 02Under App security, turn on Lock with biometrics or password. On Free the row shows a Standard lock pill instead, and choosing it opens the plan sheet.
3. 03SecureEyes locks at once and asks you to unlock, so you can see it working. On an iPhone or iPad with Face ID, the system asks the first time whether SecureEyes may use Face ID.
4. 04Optional: Auto-lock appears once the lock is on. Choose Immediately, After 1 minute, After 5 minutes, After 15 minutes or After 60 minutes. The default is 5 minutes.

When it locks

• Every time SecureEyes starts.
• When you come back after SecureEyes has been in the background for the Auto-lock time or longer.
• With Immediately, every time you come back to SecureEyes, even after only opening the app switcher.

Unlock

SecureEyes asks the system to accept your device passcode as well as Face ID or Touch ID, so a failed scan is not a dead end.

1. 01The screen reads SecureEyes is locked and asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode straight away.
2. 02If you cancel, it reads Not unlocked. Try again when you are ready. Choose Unlock to try again.

What it covers

The lock covers the whole SecureEyes window, including any page you had open. On a Mac, wall windows you launched from All Streams are separate windows and are not covered.

Turn it off

If your plan drops below Standard, the lock stops applying by itself. Your choice is kept and applies again if you upgrade.

If this device cannot authenticate

If the device has no Face ID, Touch ID or passcode available, SecureEyes unlocks rather than lock you out of your cameras.
