When you reach your plan's camera limit
Free covers 3 cameras and Standard 16. What adding past the limit does, and what never happens to cameras you already have.
The limits
- Free: 3 cameras.
- Standard: 16 cameras.
- Pro: no limit.
What you see at the limit
- Add > Add by IP address opens the plan sheet instead of the page. So does More > Network > Add a camera.
- Add > Scan the network still opens, and you can still scan and see results. When you add, cameras past the limit are not added: 1 camera was not added (or N cameras were not added) appears with Review, which opens the plan sheet.
- On Mac, Cameras > Add by IP… and Open RTSP URL… open the plan sheet too.
What never happens
Reaching the limit never removes a camera, and a full library can still scan, for example to find a camera whose address changed.
If your plan changes to one with a lower limit
Cameras over the new limit are paused, not removed. A paused camera keeps its settings, sign-in, events and clips, but does not stream. This happens only when the App Store confirms the change, not when SecureEyes simply cannot check your plan.
To pick which cameras stay live, open More > About, and under Cameras on this plan choose Choose cameras.
