Buy a plan or restore a purchase
Open the plan sheet, buy Standard or Pro, bring an earlier purchase to this device, or stop a monthly plan.
Open the plan sheet
Every purchase happens on the plan sheet. On a Mac it opens as a panel in the middle of the SecureEyes window. On iPhone and iPad it slides up from the bottom.
- 01Choose More, then About. On a Mac you can instead choose SecureEyes > About SecureEyes in the menu bar.
- 02Under Your plan, choose See plans. The sheet opens on Standard.
Choosing any locked setting or button also opens the plan sheet, already on the plan that unlocks it.
Buy Standard or Pro
- 01Open the plan sheet.
- 02At the top, choose Standard or Pro. Under each plan name the sheet shows what it changes: 3 CAMS, 16 CAMS or UNLIMITED. It shows CURRENT under the plan you have, and NOT YET under a plan that is not on sale.
- 03Under HOW TO PAY, choose One-time purchase or Monthly. One-time purchase is chosen when the sheet opens.
- 04Choose the button at the bottom. It names the plan and the price, for example Buy Standard · {price} once for a one-time purchase, or Subscribe · {price}/mo for monthly, where {price} is the price the App Store shows.
- 05Confirm the purchase in the App Store's window.
- 06The plan sheet closes. When the App Store confirms the purchase, the new plan applies at once, with no restart. If you cancel in the App Store's window, your plan does not change.
When the sheet cannot sell
- The App Store did not answer: the App Store gave SecureEyes no prices. This happens when this device cannot reach the App Store, and also when no plan is on sale yet. The payment rows show a dash and the buy button stays greyed out. Choose Try again. Everything you already own keeps working.
- Standard is not on sale yet or Pro is not on sale yet: the App Store has no price for that plan. The sheet adds It arrives in a later update, with its price. Everything you have set up keeps working.
- You have this: you already have this plan or a higher one.
- That purchase did not go through. Nothing was charged.: the App Store could not start the purchase. Try again.
Restore a purchase
Use this after reinstalling SecureEyes, or on a device that has not bought anything, to bring back a purchase made with the Apple ID this device uses for the App Store.
- 01Choose More, then About.
- 02Under Your plan, find the Restore purchases row and choose its Restore purchases button. It reads Restoring… while it works.
- If the restore raises your plan, the new plan applies at once.
- If your plan stays the same, a message says No previous purchase found for this Apple ID. You also see this when the purchase found is the plan this device already has. Check which Apple ID this device uses for the App Store.
- A restore that fails shows no message. Try again when the device is online.
The plan sheet has Restore purchases at the bottom too, and it closes when the restore raises your plan. It works even when prices do not load.
Stop a monthly plan
SecureEyes has no cancel button of its own. The Monthly option on the plan sheet notes Cancel any time in the App Store. To see what happens when it ends, read When your plan changes or a subscription lapses.
When Pro starts on this device
The first time Pro is active on a device that has no Hub paired, SecureEyes shows Welcome to Pro. It appears once per device, and again after Reset app.
- 01Plug your Hub into a screen. It shows a QR code.
- 02Choose Scan your Hub's QR and point this device's camera at the code. Settings opens on Hub with the code filled in.
- 03Or choose Not now, and set the Hub up later from Settings > Hub.
