Set up event notifications

What notifies you

SecureEyes makes its notifications on this device, so they arrive only while it is running. Events that come from a Hub do not notify.

• An event on a watched camera. The title is the camera's name and the text is the event's caption, for example "Person in red at Front Door". Tap it to open that event in Events. If SecureEyes was closed after the notification arrived, it opens without going to the event.
• A camera whose picture SecureEyes is playing stops for about 2 minutes: "Camera is not responding." It is sent once and removed when the camera is back.
• A clip finishes while SecureEyes is not in front: "Clip ready".

Turn notifications on or off

1. 01Choose More, then Notifications.
2. 02Use the switch at the top of the page. It is on by default. When it is off, the rest of the page is greyed out.

On a Mac

1. 01In Notifications, turn on Show banners on this Mac.

• It is off by default. Until you turn it on, a Mac shows no SecureEyes notifications at all.

Choose which events notify you

1. 01Under Notify me about, turn People, Vehicles and Animals on or off. People and Vehicles are on by default. Animals is off.
2. 02Under a type that is on, tap a camera's name to leave that camera out. Tap it again to include it. The line under the type shows how many cameras are included, for example "3 of 4 cameras".

• Turning a type off only stops the notification. The event is still saved in Events.
• Tapping a camera gives that camera settings of its own. From then on, the type switches on this page no longer change what that camera notifies you about. To make it follow this page again, open its Alerts page (below) and choose Follow the App Settings.
• Motion events, where nothing was recognised, always notify while notifications are on. To stop saving them at all, turn off Record unrecognised motion in Recording & Storage.
• Packages are not detected, so there is no Packages switch.

Change one camera from Live

1. 01In Live, bring the camera onto the main picture and choose Settings.
2. 02Choose Notifications. The Alerts page for that camera opens.
3. 03Tick the types this camera should notify you about. Packages is listed but cannot be turned on.
4. 04To go back to the choices on the Notifications page, choose Follow the App Settings. It appears once the camera has settings of its own.

Allow notifications

Your device asks for permission the first time SecureEyes has a notification to show, not when you install it or turn the switch on. If you did not allow it, turn notifications on for SecureEyes in your device's notification settings.

Limits in this version

• At most one event notification per camera every 5 minutes. Events are still saved, up to one every 30 seconds per camera.
• Notifications play no sound, and there are no quiet hours. The Notifications row in a camera's Settings panel mentions quiet hours, but they are not in this version.
• "Clip ready" is shown even when the switch at the top of Notifications is off. On a Mac it still needs Show banners on this Mac.
• On Free no automatic events are made, so only camera and clip notifications arrive. See Free, Standard and Pro explained.
