Browse and delete events

Open Events

1. 01iPhone: tap Events in the bar at the bottom.
2. 02iPad and Mac: choose Events in the dock at the bottom.
3. 03Mac: or choose View, then Events in the menu bar, or press Command-2.

• The bar is used whenever the window's shorter side is under 600 points, so a small Mac window shows the bar instead of the dock.
• Tapping a SecureEyes notification opens Events on that event, as long as SecureEyes has not been closed since the notification arrived. If it was closed, SecureEyes opens without going to the event.

Read the page

• The line under Events gives the number of detections, how many cameras and the space they use.
• The bar of hours shows when it was busy. Tap an hour to jump to it.
• The filter chips are All and one chip for each type seen in this range, with its count: People, Vehicles, Animals and Unrecognised. Unrecognised is motion where nothing was identified, and it includes your snapshots.
• Switch between the grid and the list with the two buttons beside the day button (tooltips Grid and List).
• Frames that follow each other from one camera, of the same type and no more than 2 minutes apart, form one burst. A tile shows +2 (for example) for the extra frames.
• In a busy hour only the first events are shown. Choose Show 4 more in this hour in the list, or the +4 more tile in the grid, to see the rest.
• Pull the page down to fetch events from your other devices when iCloud sync is on.

Pick a day

1. 01Choose the day button next to the page title. It reads Today at first.
2. 02Choose Today, Yesterday or Last 7 Days, or choose a date in the calendar. A dot marks a day with events.

• The calendar does not go past the current month.
• Events are kept for the time set in Keep events for. See Choose how long events are kept.

Open an event

1. 01Choose a tile or row.
2. 02Swipe, use the arrows, or choose a frame in the strip to step through the burst. Pinch to zoom.
3. 03Read the caption under the picture. Boxes mark each person and animal found.
4. 04Use the buttons: Save to Photos, Share, Delete, Watch the clip (only when a clip was recorded for that frame), Watch back (shown when you have a Hub; it works for cameras in the Hub's location) and Open Front Door Live (with your camera's name).
5. 05Close the viewer with the X at the top left.

• In a window under 640 points wide (an iPhone held upright) the buttons are under the picture. In a wider window (iPad, Mac, an iPhone turned sideways) Save to Photos, Share and Delete are at the top and the others at the bottom.
• "Fetching this frame from your other device…" means the picture is on its way from another of your devices.
• "No image for this frame reached this device." means the picture for this frame never arrived here, for example from another device or a Hub.
• "The image for this frame is no longer on this device." means the file is gone. SecureEyes removes such events from the list by itself.

Delete one frame

1. 01Open the event.
2. 02Choose Delete. The frame is deleted at once, without a question.

Delete a row or an hour

1. 01For a row, switch to the list. In a window at least 640 points wide, choose the trash button at the end of the row. In a narrower window (an iPhone held upright), swipe the row to the left.
2. 02For a whole hour, choose the trash button beside that hour's heading, in the grid or the list.
3. 03In the question, for example "Delete 3 events?", choose Remove, or Cancel to keep them.

• A row is a whole burst: every frame in it is deleted.

Delete several at once (wide windows)

1. 01Choose Select at the end of the filter row.
2. 02Tick the tiles or rows to delete.
3. 03Choose Delete, then Remove. Choose Cancel to leave without deleting.

• Select and the row trash buttons appear when the window is at least 640 points wide, which includes an iPad, a Mac and an iPhone turned sideways.

Delete every event

1. 01Choose More, then Recording & Storage.
2. 02Under Storage, choose Clear next to Clear all events.
3. 03In "Clear all events?", choose Remove.
