How the Hub's licence works
The app activates the Hub's licence over the internet. The Hub renews it by itself about once a day. One Pro purchase covers 3 Hubs.
Activation
A Hub runs on a Pro licence. The SecureEyes app activates it when it sets the Hub up: it sends the licence server your purchase and the Hub's own key, and the server returns a licence bound to that one Hub. Activating needs the internet.
One Pro purchase covers 3 Hubs. The app on the device that bought Pro lists them and can free a seat.
Renewal
- A licence lasts 90 days.
- The Hub renews it by itself about once a day, so while it is online it never gets close to the end.
- From 14 days before the end, the Hub's page and the app warn that it is ending.
- A Hub with no internet of its own is renewed by the phone that bought Pro, whenever that phone is on the same network.
- Settings, then Licence, shows the licence, when the Hub last checked in, and Check now, which asks the licence server straight away.
When it runs out
A Hub with no valid licence is blocked: it stops serving and recording and says why on its screen. It never deletes anything. When the Hub is blocked has the causes and fixes.
Pro is not on sale yet, so no Hub can be activated today. This is how it works once it can be.
