Change a camera's name, location or address

Open a camera's settings

A camera with no picture shows Fix This Camera, which opens the same page. On iPad and Mac the page lists its sections on the left. On iPhone, and in narrow windows, choose a section from the list.

While a camera is recording, Settings is hidden until you stop. On an extra tile you pinned, that button reads Remove instead: select the camera's own tile.

1. 01Open Live and select the camera. On iPhone, swipe the picture or choose its thumbnail. On iPad and Mac, choose it in the camera list on the left.
2. 02Choose Settings under the picture. Quick camera settings opens: as a sheet on iPhone, beside the picture on iPad and Mac.
3. 03Choose Advanced Settings at the bottom of the panel. The camera's full settings page opens.

Rename a camera

Renamed to followed by the new name confirms it. Past events and clips take the new name. The name only changes inside SecureEyes. To also write it into the camera's own video, turn on Change OSD name; this works only if the camera allows it.

1. 01Open the camera's settings and choose General.
2. 02Under Camera name, replace the name.
3. 03Choose Save, or press Return.

Move a camera to another location

You can also choose Location in Quick camera settings. The message (camera name) moved to (location) confirms it. Creating more locations needs Standard or Pro: More > Cams & Streams, under Locations choose Manage, then Add Location.

Follow a camera to a new IP address

The saved streams and sign-in move to the new address. Nothing on the camera changes. If the picture does not start, choose Video > Re-detect.

A scan can also find a moved camera: if SecureEyes recognises it, its row under Already added has an Update button.

2. 02Under IP address / Host URL, choose Update IP Address.
3. 03Replace the address with the new one and choose Update.
