Update a camera's username and password

Change the sign-in SecureEyes uses for a camera after its password changes, or after it was added with the wrong one.

Update the sign-in

Sign-in saved for followed by the camera's name confirms it, and the camera reconnects. SecureEyes does not check the password before saving it. If the camera still refuses, its tile shows Sign in again.

  1. 01Open the camera's settings (see Change a camera's name, location or address).
  2. 02Choose Connection & Access.
  3. 03Under Camera sign-in, choose Update Sign-In.
  4. 04Enter the Username and Password. The saved ones are filled in.
  5. 05Choose Connect.

Faster route from a refused tile

When a tile says the camera refused the stream because of its sign-in, choose Sign in again. The camera's settings page opens; continue from step 2 above.

Cameras on a Hub

The new sign-in is saved on this device and sent to the Hub. If the Hub refuses it, The Hub did not take that change appears with the Hub's reason.

Where sign-ins are kept

SecureEyes saves each camera's sign-in in the system keychain on this device. The saved stream addresses on the device include it too. With Camera passwords sync turned on in Sync & Devices (Standard and Pro), sign-ins travel through iCloud Keychain.

Hikvision and Dahua

These brands need a separate ONVIF user. The web admin account does not sign in over ONVIF, so the right password still fails. See Tapo, Hikvision, Reolink and generic cameras.
