Record a clip from Live

Start recording

1. 01In Live, bring the camera onto the main picture.
2. 02Choose Record in the row of buttons under the picture.

• Recording works on every plan.
• SecureEyes records the stream the picture is showing.

While it records

• A recording screen opens with RECORDING at the top, the camera's name, a timer and SAVING TO CLIPS.
• The speaker button mutes or unmutes what you hear.
• You can leave this screen. The recording keeps going, and Live shows a large Stop button in the middle of the row under the picture.

Stop recording

1. 01Choose the round stop button, or Stop in Live if you left the recording screen.
2. 02For a recording made on this device, the clip appears in Clips straight away, marked Saving… while it is finished off.
3. 03When it is ready, a message says Clip saved with the length, for example Clip saved · 0:42. Choose Open to go to it. On the recording screen, Open in Clips does the same.
4. 04To record again on the same camera, choose the record button on the recording screen.

Limits

• A recording made on this device stops by itself after 15 minutes: "Recording reached its length limit".
• It stops when the device has less than 500 MB free: "Recording stopped: storage almost full". With less than that free, it does not start (No storage left).
• If the camera's stream ends: "Recording ended with the stream".
• The first time in a session that a recording finishes while clips use more than 4 GB, a message says "Clips are using" and the total, with Review. Its second line, "Nothing is deleted automatically", is only true when Keep recordings is Until deleted.

If recording fails

• Recording failed (SE-STRM-009): the stream could not be written to a clip. Try again.
• No storage left (SE-STOR-007): free up space on this device.

Cameras on a Hub

• In a location with a Hub, Record marks where the clip starts and the Hub keeps the footage. When you stop, the screen shows SAVING while the Hub cuts that stretch, and the clip arrives in Clips marked FROM HUB.
• A Hub recording has no 15-minute or 500 MB limit in the app.
• The Hub uses Recording quality and Clip format from More, then Recording & Storage.
• If the Hub recorded only the standard stream, the message adds "From the standard stream. This Hub is not recording high resolution for this camera."
• If the Hub cannot cut the clip, Recording failed (SE-STRM-009) is shown.
