Take a snapshot and save it to Photos

Save a still from a live camera into SecureEyes, then share it or copy it to Photos when you choose.

Take the snapshot

The snapshot is kept at the largest image size and follows your event retention setting, like any other event. The wall and Mac wall windows have no snapshot button.

  1. 01Choose Live, then the camera. You can also use full screen, or the pan and zoom panel.
  2. 02Choose Snapshot.
  3. 03A preview opens. The note under it says the image is saved in SecureEyes and appears in Events.

Share it or add it to Photos

  1. 01In the preview, choose Share to send it with the system share sheet.
  2. 02Or choose Add to Photos. SecureEyes copies it into Photos, into an album called SecureEyes when Photos allows it, otherwise straight into your library.
  3. 03If iOS or macOS asks whether SecureEyes may add to Photos, allow it. The first time, a message titled Saved to Photos reminds you that Photos follows its own iCloud settings, so the copy may sync to iCloud Photos.
  4. 04When the copy is made, you see Snapshot saved to Photos, and the button then reads Save again.
Nothing goes to Photos by itself

A snapshot stays inside SecureEyes until you choose Add to Photos or Share.

If it does not work

  • Camera is still starting up: try the shutter again once the picture appears.
  • Could not capture a frame (Error SE-STRM-007): wait for the picture to settle, then try again.
  • Could not save this snapshot under the preview: the still was not kept, so Share and Add to Photos are dimmed. Take it again.
  • Photos access is off (Error SE-STOR-004): allow SecureEyes to add photos in the system privacy settings, or use Share.
  • Could not save to Photos (Error SE-STOR-003): Photos refused the image. Try again, or use Share.
