Watch your cameras away from home

Turn on Watch away from home and the Hub keeps a line open outward to a relay. Away from home the app reaches the Hub through it, sealed end to end.

What it is

The Hub opens a line outward to a relay. Nothing is opened into your network. Only watching passes through: no settings, no pairing, no changes. Every request is sealed with the Hub's own key, so the relay sees only ciphertext.

Not on sale yet

Pro is not on sale yet, so no Hub can be activated today. This is how it works once it can be.

Turn it on

  1. 01At home, choose More, then Hub.
  2. 02Under SET ON THE HUB, turn on Watch away from home.
  3. 03The row says On. The Hub keeps a line open outward to and the relay's address. While the Hub is still reaching the relay it says On, and not yet through to the relay. with the reason.
  4. 04On every other device that uses the Hub, open More, then Hub, once while at home. That is when the device learns the relay's address.
  • It needs Pro. On a device without Pro the switch is replaced by the plan badge.
  • This Hub has no relay configured, so there is nowhere to keep a line open to. means the Hub has no relay to use, and the switch cannot be turned on.
  • The Hub would not change remote access is followed by the Hub's reason.

While it is on

  • A band across the top of the app says Watching from outside the house is on. Turn off switches it off; Hub settings opens the Hub page.
  • Away from home, the app tries your home network first, then the relay. The Hub page then shows ROAD with RELAY.
  • Live video arrives through the relay. When the Hub is not answering at all, viewing from outside the house waits until it is back.

Turn it off

  1. 01Choose Turn off in the band, or turn off Watch away from home on the Hub page.
