Mac menu bar and keyboard shortcuts

What each SecureEyes menu does on a Mac, and the keys that go with them.

SecureEyes menu

  • About SecureEyes opens the About page.
  • Settings… (Command-comma) opens General.
  • The usual macOS items follow: Services, Hide, Hide Others, Show All and Quit.

View menu

  • Live (Command-1), Events (Command-2), Clips (Command-3).
  • All Streams (Shift-Command-F) opens the wall page. It is dimmed while Live shows no cameras.
  • The system's full screen item in this menu makes the app window full screen. It is not the wall.
  • Switch to Light Mode or Switch to Dark Mode.

Cameras menu

  • Scan Network… (Shift-Command-S) opens the network scan.
  • Add by IP… (Shift-Command-I) adds a camera by its address.
  • Open RTSP URL… (Shift-Command-U) adds a camera by its stream address.
  • Network Settings and Locations open those settings pages.

Window menu

  • Minimize and Zoom, provided by macOS.

Help menu

  • Contact Support opens an email to [email protected].
  • Report a Problem… opens an email to the same address with the app version, the platform and playback counters filled in.
  • Privacy Policy opens the privacy policy on the web.

Other keys

SecureEyes also puts an icon in the macOS menu bar, for launching and closing walls without opening the app. See Put walls on your Mac displays.

  • Escape closes a full screen camera.
  • Escape leaves full screen in a wall window.
