SE-STA-036: Watch away from home is off on this hub
The Hub is there and answered through the relay, and it says Watch away from home is off. While it is off, the line to the relay carries only three requests from a paired device: whether it is on, turning it on, and turning Allow turning on from anywhere off. Everything else is refused with this code. It is not the relay's own "that hub is not connected to this relay", which means the Hub keeps no line at all.

Where you see it
Not on screen as a code. The Hub puts it in its JSON answer, and notes "viewing away is off; refused" in its log, when something asks through the relay while Watch away from home is off and the request is not one of the three the line carries. The app shows its own words instead. Away from home, the band across the top of the app reads Watch away from home is off for this Hub. Under it the band says Off. Turn it on to watch from here. with Turn on, or Off. This device cannot turn it on from here. with Hub settings. More, then Hub shows a card with the same title and This device is away from home. The Hub is there and answered through the relay, but while Watch away from home is off that line carries only a request to turn it on: no video, no camera list, no events. A camera of that Hub shows Watch away from home is off for this Hub. Nothing plays from here until it is on. In All Streams on a Mac, its row is tagged HUB OFF.
What to do
- To watch from here, choose Turn on in the band, when it is offered. The Hub turns Watch away from home on and the app connects.
- If the band says Off. This device cannot turn it on from here., turn Watch away from home on at home: choose More, then Hub, and turn on Watch away from home under SET ON THE HUB. The Hub answers a device it no longer knows in the same way, so also check on the Hub's web page that this device is still listed under Settings, Devices.
- To let a phone turn it on away from home next time, turn on Allow turning on from anywhere at home, on the Hub's web page or in the app.
- If the app says The Hub was asked too often. Try again in a few minutes., wait ten minutes. The Hub allows 5 asks in 10 minutes for each device.
