Watch your cameras from outside the house

What it is

With Watch away from home on, the Hub opens a line outward to the SecureEyes relay at relay.secureeyes.app and keeps it open. Nothing is opened into your network, and no port is forwarded on your router. Every request is sealed with the Hub's own key, so the relay forwards ciphertext it cannot read.

Only watching and the everyday camera actions pass through the relay. Pairing, devices, scans, the Hub's settings and the switch itself wait until you are on the Hub's own network.

What it needs

• A valid Pro licence on the Hub. The relay checks it each time the Hub connects, and closes the line when it runs out.
• A decision from someone who uses the Hub. It is off on a new Hub, and a reset turns it off again.
• An internet connection at the Hub.

Turn it on

The Hub's web page has no switch to turn it on.

   On the Hub's network, open SecureEyes on a device paired with the Hub.

   Choose More, then Hub, and turn on Watch away from home.

While it is on

• The Hub's web page says Watching from outside the house is ON. at the top, with Turn off.
• Every device that uses the Hub shows a blue band and frame in the app.
• Video through the relay is measured out: stills in the grid, 5 minutes of live video at a time, and up to 4 cameras at once. At home none of this applies. Watch your cameras away from home in the App guide has the detail.

Turn it off

   On the Hub's network, choose Turn off at the top of the Hub's web page, or turn off Watch away from home in the app.

   The Hub closes its line to the relay.
