SE-NET-001: Camera not reachable
SecureEyes tried to reach the camera and nothing usable answered at its address. The camera may be off, unplugged, on a network this device cannot reach, or at a new address, or its hostname does not resolve. On iPhone and iPad, Local Network access being off is one cause: the connection row in the camera's settings then replaces the hint with one that names it (step 3).
What it says
SE-NET-001: Camera not reachable. Check power, cabling and the address.
Where you see it
On the Live stage (full screen shows no code), the camera's panel reads "<camera> is not responding" with the badge OFFLINE ("Loading <camera>" while a camera that has never played is still being tried), and an amber line under it ends with "Error SE-NET-001". The same failure is the subtitle of the connection row in the camera's settings under Connection & Access, and on a Mac wall window the tile shows NO SIGNAL or RECONNECTING with the bare code under it. It also comes as an error message after a camera action whose failure the app reads this way: Run test and Reboot under Maintenance, Check Again, Fetch Thumbnail, the Change OSD name switch, and Light on Live, and in the error message after adding cameras from a scan when a camera was added with no stream and the reason reads as unreachable. In the camera's settings, the connection row replaces the hint with the networks this device is on when the camera is on another one, and on iPhone and iPad with a Local Network hint when it is on the same one.
What to do
- 01Check that the camera has power and that its cable or Wi-Fi is connected.
- 02Check that this device is on the same network as the camera. Open the camera's settings: in Live, select the camera, choose Settings under the picture, then Advanced Settings. A camera saved with no stream shows Fix This Camera in place of the picture, which opens the same page. Under Connection & Access, the connection row names the networks this device is on when the camera is on another one.
- 03On iPhone and iPad, allow Local Network access in the iOS Settings app: Privacy & Security > Local Network > SecureEyes. Cameras on other networks keep working while it is off, which is why only some cameras fail.
- 04If the camera's address changed: when the Live panel reads "<camera> is not responding", choose Scan for a New Address, then Scan 1 Network (or Scan <n> Networks). A saved camera found at a new address reads "<new address> · address changed from <old address>"; choose Update beside it. Or, in the camera's settings under General, choose Update IP Address, type the address and choose Update.
- 05Back on Live, when the panel reads "<camera> is not responding", choose Retry Now. While it reads "Loading <camera>" it is still retrying on its own and has no buttons.
