SE-STA-029: Blocked

The Hub has an owner and no valid licence, so it is blocked: it serves no live view, records nothing and takes no changes to cameras or walls. It deletes nothing, footage already recorded still plays, and the app keeps playing the cameras it can reach directly. This cause: its licence ran out. On a stock Hub every ended licence is this cause. The Hub's own sentence also says it renews its licence when connected to the internet. A Hub with no licence server set (the default) cannot; only the app renews it.

Where you see it

On the Hub's web page, first under Overview > NEEDS ATTENTION: "This Hub needs the internet to check its licence", then "Connect it to the internet, or open SecureEyes on the phone that bought Pro while it is on the same network. Nothing on this Hub has been deleted.", the code, and Open licence. On a screen plugged into the Hub: the headline, the cure and "SE-STA-029 · Nothing on this Hub has been deleted." In the app, under More > Hub: a banner with the headline and cure, and a Licence row showing SE-STA-029 with Check now. The Hub logs "blocked: This Hub needs the internet to check its licence (SE-STA-029)". Only on a Hub that once held a valid licence.

What to do

  1. 01Activating a Hub needs SecureEyes on a device that holds a Pro purchase: the app presents that purchase to the licence server, which issues the Hub's licence. A device without a Pro purchase cannot activate it.
  2. 02On that device, open SecureEyes while it is on the same network as the Hub. If that device is not paired with the Hub, pair it first (see Add a phone or tablet to your Hub).
  3. 03Choose More, then Hub. Opening this page asks for the Hub's licence by itself, and a success says "Hub licensed. Pro is on that box now."
  4. 04To ask again, choose Check again under THIS DEVICE. Check now on the Licence row asks the Hub's own licence server instead; a Hub without one (the default) answers "The Hub could not check its licence".
