SE-STA-033: The camera refused the sign-in the hub holds for it

The camera refused the username and password the Hub holds, so the Hub stops signing in to it on every path until it accepts again or a new password is saved.

What it says

SE-STA-033: the camera refused the sign-in the hub holds for it: an add is not saved, and the hub stops signing in to the camera (controls, encoder and overlay are not asked) until it accepts again or a new password is saved

Where you see it

On the Hub's web page: in the Adding <address> dialog when the Hub refuses to add a camera because it refuses the username and password you typed, a red strip with SE-STA-033, "The camera refused this username and password, so it was not added." and "Nothing was saved."; and on a camera's Video tab, under STREAM QUALITY, after Read from camera: "The camera refuses the username and password the Hub holds, so the Hub is not signing in to it until it accepts again. If its password changed, correct it in the app." with the code. A camera held back for this is marked SIGN-IN REFUSED. The Hub's answer to every control for such a camera carries the code, and its log says "held back for a refused sign-in". The app does not show the code: a control the Hub answers with it reads Sign-in rejected (SE-AUTH-001), or Camera locked sign-ins (SE-AUTH-005) when the camera said it locked the account. Its controls (spotlight, microphone, light, overlay, pan and tilt, stream quality) answer the code without asking the camera. Nothing is deleted.

What to do

  1. Find the password the camera takes now: sign in to the camera's own web page with it.
  2. In the SecureEyes app, open the camera's settings, choose Connection & Access, then Update Sign-In under Camera sign-in, and save that username and password.
  3. The Hub tries the new sign-in at once. A different password ends the hold on the spot. The same password saved again, because you put the old one back on the camera, is checked with one request, and the hold ends only if the camera accepts it.
  4. If the camera locked its account (the app says Camera locked sign-ins, SE-AUTH-005), wait for the lock to run out first, often 5 minutes, then save the sign-in.
  5. If the right password is still refused, the camera may keep a separate account for apps or for ONVIF (Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink). See Sign-in rejected with the right password.
