Restart a camera from SecureEyes

Send a reboot to a camera from its settings page when its video stays stuck. The camera is offline for a minute or two while it restarts.

Before you restart it

A restart stops the camera's video for one or two minutes, for SecureEyes and for anything else recording it, such as a Hub. Try Reconnect in Quick camera settings first: it reopens only SecureEyes' own stream.

SecureEyes signs in to the camera with the sign-in saved on this device. For a camera in a location with a Hub, the Hub sends the reboot.

Restart the camera

  1. On Live, choose the camera, then Settings under the picture.
  2. Choose Advanced Settings.
  3. Choose Maintenance (Checks, reboot and troubleshooting). On iPad and Mac it is in the list on the left.
  4. Find Reboot camera and choose Reboot.
  5. Read Reboot (camera name)?: The camera will be offline for one or two minutes while it restarts. Choose Reboot, or Cancel.
  6. The button reads Sending… while it works. Reboot sent confirms it.
  • Reboot beside Re-detect at the top of the camera's settings page does the same.
  • If the picture has not come back after two minutes, choose Reconnect in Quick camera settings.

If it does not restart

  • Camera did not accept the reboot (SE-ONVF-012): the camera refused. It may not allow a restart over the network. Restart it from its own app or web page, or at its power supply.
  • Sign-in rejected (SE-AUTH-001): fix the camera's sign-in first. See Update a camera's username and password.
