Snooze a camera's alerts
Silence one camera for 15 minutes, an hour or until tomorrow morning. Its events are still recorded, and its alerts come back on their own.
What a snooze does
A snooze silences one camera for a while. Then its alerts come back on their own. It is a time, not a switch: the camera's Notifications switch and its Alert types stay exactly as they were.
- While it runs, this camera shows no banners: none for its events, and no Camera is not responding. or Stopped accepting its password. notification.
- Its events are still recorded, still listed in Events, and still counted on the app icon.
- Your other cameras are not affected.
Snooze a camera from Live
- In Live, bring the camera onto the main picture and choose Settings under the picture. On iPhone a sheet opens. On iPad and Mac a panel opens beside the picture.
- Under This camera, below the Notifications switch, choose Snooze (Silence this camera for a while. Events are still recorded.).
- Choose 15 minutes, 1 hour or Until tomorrow. Each shows the time it ends. Until tomorrow ends at 07:00 the next morning.
- A message confirms it with the camera's name, for example Front Door snoozed until 14:30.
- While the snooze runs, the row reads Snoozed until and the time, with No banners or sounds from this camera until then. Events are still recorded.
- Times are shown on a 24-hour clock. An end on the next day reads Tomorrow and the time, for example Tomorrow 07:00.
- If the button in that place reads Remove, the main picture is a pinned extra tile. Choose the camera's own tile instead.
Snooze from a notification
An event banner has a Snooze 1 hour button. Choosing it opens SecureEyes and snoozes that camera for one hour. A message confirms it, for example Front Door snoozed until 15:10.
- On iPhone and iPad, touch and hold the banner to show the button.
- Banners show only when Alert style is Banners and badge. With Badge only, the default, there is no banner to snooze from. See Set up event notifications.
- The button is on event banners only, not on a camera's Camera is not responding. notification.
End a snooze early
- In Live, bring the camera onto the main picture and choose Settings.
- On the Snoozed until row, choose End snooze.
- A message confirms it with the camera's name, for example Front Door alerts are back on.
Good to know
- A snooze ends by itself at the time shown, whether SecureEyes is open or not.
- The end is a fixed moment, so a device that changes time zone still ends the snooze when it said it would.
- With iCloud sync on, a snooze is a synced setting, so it reaches your other devices. On a device that follows the capture device, it is refused with (device name) owns the camera list. Snooze on the capture device instead. See (device name) owns the camera list.
- To stop a camera's alerts for good, switch its Notifications off instead. See Set up event notifications.
