Why is my Events tab empty?

Nothing is watching for motion

When no camera can raise an event, Events says Nothing is watching for motion instead of an empty day. There are two causes.

• Motion border is off. The page has a Turn On Motion Border button. It is the same switch as Motion border in More > Cams & Streams, under Tile overlays.
• Motion border is on, but every camera has Detect motion off in its own settings. The page says so and has no button: turn Detect motion on for a camera.

Turn on Motion border

   Open Events.

   Choose Turn On Motion Border. Motion border on confirms it.

   The page then reads No events today until a camera reports motion.

Turn on Detect motion for one camera

   In Live, bring the camera onto the main picture and choose Settings.

   Under This camera, turn Detect motion on.

• The same switch is in the camera's full settings: Advanced Settings, then Camera Features, at the top of Motion detection.

Still nothing from one camera

• The camera has to report motion. In Advanced Settings > Camera Features, the Motion events row shows a check mark when the camera sends ONVIF motion events. A camera without them can use Software detection. See Turn motion detection on or off.
• SecureEyes has to be running: events are made on this device.
• In a location with a Hub, the Hub watches the cameras, and its events appear while the app is connected to it.

On Free

Motion events need Standard or Pro. On Free, Events holds the snapshots you take, and Turn On Motion Border carries a Standard label and opens the plan offer.
