View ONVIF and RTSP cameras on iPhone and iPad
Watch your IP cameras on iPhone and iPad over your own Wi-Fi with SecureEyes. Scan for ONVIF cameras or add one by address. No account, no cloud needed.
The short answer
Install SecureEyes from the App Store, allow Local Network access, then choose Add and Scan the network. ONVIF cameras on the same Wi-Fi usually show up in under 30 seconds, and any RTSP camera can be added by its IP address.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad with iOS 15 or later, on the same router as the camera. A guest network keeps them apart.
- A camera that serves H.264 or H.265 over RTSP. For the scan to find it, ONVIF must be on in the camera's own settings. Some brands ship with it off.
- The username and password set on the camera itself. Some brands keep a separate account for apps: an ONVIF user on Hikvision, a Camera Account from the Tapo app.
Add your first camera
- Install SecureEyes from the App Store and open it. There is no sign-up screen.
- On Live, choose Add Cameras.
- When your iPhone or iPad asks whether SecureEyes can find devices on your local network, allow it.
- Choose Scan Network. Cameras that answer ONVIF are ticked for you.
- Choose Add 1 Camera (or Add N Cameras).
- On Sign in, enter the camera's Username and Password, then choose Add 1 Camera again.
- Go back (the back arrow at the top of the page) to reach Live. Your camera is playing.
If your camera is not found
Choose Add, then Add by IP address, and type the camera's address, for example 192.168.1.64. A camera on another subnet can always be added this way. See Camera not found or not reachable.
Watching several cameras at once
Open the wall to see every camera at once in full screen, page through them and rearrange the tiles. Free holds up to 3 cameras and offers 6 layouts. Standard and Pro offer all 16 layouts, with up to 16 cameras on one wall. See Show all your cameras on a wall and Choose a wall layout.
